Poems :  Air Castles...
Although a broom or a mop it may only be
you're a cowboy riding your trusty steed,
Out on the range, down the canyons and back,
through the hallways and kitchen stopping for a snack,

Under the bed sheets with flashlight in hand
you're safe from the world and all its demands,
Be a fort or a palace, you let your mind roam,
A faerie princess you are or a knight 'neath your dome,

Escape into your mind by picking up a book,
The world lies before you, you have only to look,
The words jump from the pages and fly into your head,
You're transported through space while never leaving your bed,

Be what you want for there is no one to say no
once you have let your imagination take hold,
Daydream of your future and of all it may bring,
Air castles do have a habit of happening.

 Re: Air Castles...
A good imagination is the most wonderful gift to possess, Jack and you have penned that very beautifully in this very lovely write, reminiscent of childhood days and growing up, when one can be what they want to be and live as much in their own world as they wish to, spending the remaining time in the 'real' world. It is the 'real' world which is filled with illusion and make belief! I love the final line in the poem, it brings the whole poem together for me and I too, believe that if we build castles in the air, believe in ourselves, they will become a reality! Beautiful work! Thank you for sharing, Jack. Hugs...

Thank you, Marie! Without imagination I think we'd still be living in the stone age.
