In't th'a scullery mothers voice is heard t'say
if't thou don't shut'p i'll belt thee one roont-lughole
now sit thee both down tis time for thyne tea.
Th'a doorsteps on't a plate arrive, jam butty's.

Th'a dog sits his eyes from thee to thou roam.
A large mug of tea not t'be missed appears
your fortune told in't bottom dregs t'be read.
wh'ts for a'ters mother, th'a lads chorused forth.

A bowl of plums and cherries th'a table plonked
one by one th'a pips were aligned along th'an rim.
A rhyme was sung aloud, Tinker, Taylor, Soldier,
Sailor, Rich-man, Poor-man, Beggar-man, Thief.
rhgt kids get ou'to play was th'a next command.
