Poems :  And the Rest, is Silence

When the screaming ceases,
its embellished whimper.
The tides dissipate momentum,
into their vast unknown.
Days inhale nights' unforgiving ways,
spinning more than just earth's axis.
Senses over-reacting as one laps others,
confusing the life they claim.
Disposable impasses propose myths,
which intervene as plausible.
Life wanders from itself,
aiding only those less worthy.
False idols become depictions
of enormous potential and opportunity.
The hunted now encompassed,
divided and conquered one by one.
All that ever was is no longer,
and the rest, is silence.

Re: And the Rest, is Silence
A continual paring down, until there is nothing left to pare, or so I get out of this wonderful, if stark, write.
