Poems -> Dark :  What I Know So Well
Tags: accuzedoflivin   angry   i   what   well   so   know
Tell me... is it reasonable to say I'm wrong
To pursue what my heart longs for?
And how am I to be looked upon
When with your judging you so haughtily go on

I'm only looking to stop the pain
So I can feel like I have something to gain
Out of this life, and every breath I decide to take
So that the smiles and the laughs I'll no longer have to fake

No longer dread those dragged out, dreary nights
Where sleep and soundness of mind are so habitually escaping my sights

You speak of wanting me to only live my life in peace
But in all reality, that's all I've ever tried to achieve

You make it look so easy, with such a beautifully fulfilling state
As if, for you, happiness and joy the heavens themselves make
I'm frustrated to say that I have yet to find the day
When trying times and hardships will no longer come my way

So until someone can explain to me why
I shouldn't, my selfish desires, try to satisfy
Then I'm forced to do what I know so well
Hurt the ones I love while, in my miserableness, dwell

I just want to be happy. Why do you have to make me feel like that's so wrong?
(Dark, angry poetry. Reads, rates, comments are very much appreciated.)
