Poems -> Dark :  The Devil's Tree
Tags: accuzedoflivin   dark   angry   the   tree   devil's

In this tree of life
I see no righteous or good-hearted
Only the footsteps of a man
That lead right back to where he started

Lately, I fear, in them I've followed
Into the anger and addiction
Down a hole so deep, so lonely, so hollow
It'd be a struggle climbing back up again

But this time, as I return
That house won't be
What my sights are set on
It never was a home to me

How could I call it such a place?
When all it taught me was to hide
Run from the pains and troubles I'd face
Then simply drown it out inside

So if there's one thing I now know
It's that making sure this weed doesn't grow
Anymore can set many ahead of me free
Free from this curse, the Devil's tree

This one's about genetic inheritence. You know how you can pass down things like depression or maybe a certain kind of attitude in a family line geneticly? This one's about one with anger and addiction.
(Dark, angry poetry. Read/rate/comment/enjoy. I appreciate it!)
