Poems -> Social :  Magic Beans and Mindless Office Work
Tags: work   NHS   office   mindless   beans   magic

Can't let go of my insecurities.
I search for reasons not to top myself.
Must cleanse my soul of all impurities.
The NHS won't help with mental health

any more. Yet, in truth, they never did
bother much. Blair's "New Labour" was all talk
and smug smiles. Who were they trying to kid?
Magic beans? We need a giant beanstalk?

At what point is just one more thing too much?
At what stage can we just not pay the bills?
Practice the art of look-but-do-not-touch.
You go to college to learn useless skills,

which help you to get mindless office work.
You need a job. We will not let you shirk.
