Poems -> Life :  Here and Now
Tags: depression   here   reform   now

Looking forward, looking back -
I rarely make time for the sweet here and now.
I see a lonely, tormented, angry, vindictive,
creative child, in so much pain, so misunderstood.
I see bleak nothingness for the future,
or fame, fortune, peace, loving.
No middle ground at all.
I want the world, but just to destroy it,
or maybe to manipulate it in some way.
I want my name known in years to come.
But why?
Part of me just wants to get the hell out:
escape, explode. Commit suicide.
I want some time, here and now,
with my loving husband and nature,
in the local park, this afternoon.
Yet, will that help me to achieve social
and political reform?
